Thank you! Please consider that this is just 2 siblings. Which demonstrates, that crosspollinations of H.papilio, from TETraploids with large bloom, will yield the "impressive" with a HIGH likelihood. The main thing that anybody has to do in the first place is to build up a stock of H.papilio. Namely, in order to obtain enough bloom to pollinate. Bcz the actual bottleneck is the extremely low count of VIABLE seeds within the abundance of seeds per seed pod which is up to 120 after pollination from TETraploids. Vegetative multiplication is easy, since this Species Knight Star Lily multiplies well from offsets, well at least if the bulbs are not already old. But you will not likely obtain old bulbs if you purchase bulbs from commercial production.

Crossing back to papilio? or would you have some of your other delicious crosses flowering and thus available as parental options?

I have a nice amount of H. papilios growing and now I am happier about that than ever before. There are about 15 seedlings altogether out of which 10+ are open pollinated ( papilio as the seed parent) and the rest are papilio x papilio between two strains.

You must be a Clair-Voyant then; actually your suggestion has a rationale behind, which is shifting the shape of the bloom towards the magic shape of H.papilio, and indeed I made up my mind, and I already pollinated one floret of H.papilio from this seedling, and the other from "PapMinPic1".

I have my thumbs up and if - or more likely, when - you get viable and vigorous seeds I'll have an extraspecial bond with them and the seedlings that follow. :)
