The tree looks great Lorraine. The second picture may be some sort of pest. Look here under aphids and see if that reminds you of what you see. I've also heard of using isopropyl alcohol mixed with water to spray them then rinse it off but I'd wait for better instruction before doing that as I don't remember the mix ratios.

What Nicholas says is what I also believe. Aphids.

Brian's Spray

1 Tbsp liquid dish soap (blue "Dawn")

1 Tbsp olive oil

1 Litre water

mix in spray bottle, shake and spray.

I have heard of ones with Isoprophyl alcohol in with.

just make sure tree is out of sun when you spray it. Leave for a few hours then rinse it off with plain water. Leaves will burn in sun if not rinsed off.

This is a contact spray (has to contact bugs to work).

the only thing you 'might' find is that the larger buds may have a bit of a imperfect look, due to bugs, otherwise will be fine.

aphids,i just blast them with high pressure water, well not to high you gonna destroy the leaf aswell
