"Need help with my tomato garden"

Many of my tomato plants have had yellow leaves on them and many of the tomatoes have rotted before they were ripe. We had a very wet June when it rained almost every day and then, in August, the weatherman here said that we got a total of only 1-inch of rain for the whole month. So, the weather may have a lot to do with how my tomatoes have been this year. I plant a variety of different kinds of tomatoes and my best one has been the Husky Red Cherry. I was wondering if my problem could be my soil, that it might be lacking in something and I thought that this fall after my garden is done that I would till my garden and I wonder if I should sow something into my soil when I till it. Does anyone have any suggestions. I thought that maybe if I add something to my soil that next year my tomatoes would do better. Does anyone have a suggesstion as to what I should put on my garden.
