Usually, the hybridized female-sterile streps will have Streptocarpus 'Silvia' as an ancestor. If you look at the stigma on such a female-sterile strep, in my experience you will see that it is deformed, slightly branched at the end, and usually green and over-sized. Most fertile streps, on the other hand, will have a white stigma, with a slightly sticky ovoid receptacle for the pollen.
