Laura, so glad you posted this...it has been on my wish list and now that you say very slow growing....it is scratched off. I was told Kukiat does not let this one go.... :-))) Only the "Queen" could acquire this rare beauty.... :-)))

Lol, Roxane !! This is not the .." Tropical Aurora" from Dr. Kukiat... But it is just as special.... :-)

Dr. Kukiat only releases seeds from his Tropical Aurora.. And i bought five seeds from BBB. I only have one remaining. Here is the seedling...

AB is from a friend who says it's a beauty and I have been waiting to see some action .. I think it might .... ( I wish, I wish, I wish...)

Looks very healthy, Laura, so my fingers are crossed for you X X! Mine grew quite a bit this year and will need up-potting in the spring. It seems to like a little heat and humidity.

Did only one Tropical Aurora seed germinate for you? It looks good. I couldn't resist and went ahead and planted a few more seeds this summer. More babies to fuss over the next 3-5 years, lol.

I sowed those seeds during the winter and babied them... I ended up with one that I left alone.. Go figure!!

Keeping my fingers crossed on my AB. Its getting cool at night, but I went ahead and put her in the greenhouse to keep it warmer than being outside. The door stays open all night, but it gets nice and toasty during the day. The inflo is getting big and I'm happy to see that it wasn't a false inflo. Talk about holding my breath!!!

Mine has grown quite a bit this year and I did pot up this season .. I think it likes its new container!! When I first thought that I saw something happening, I had to get the magnifying glass out to inspect!! I was so excited!!!

Laura, looks like about 5-6 more weeks!! LOL! Keep fertilizing it mildly and keep that thing warm. I have found that sometimes when I bring plants into the house they all of a sudden hurry up their blooming. Why is that? Maybe lower light and warmer nights? Or maybe they say 'Oh crap, looks like summer is over, I better bloom'.

I think I am going to start addressing you as Queen Lauralani. Now, about that cross pollination of Lauralani #1 and the lei making business...what is warehouse space with a glass roof going to cost me in Virginia Beach as a minority partner?

i do have her in the greenhouse keeping her warm and safe from this Northeaster we are having. You guys up in Nova are probably feeling the wind and the rain from this beast!!!

You are to funny about the " oh crap, summer is over". I'm sure that is the real reason they bloom more quickly inside... Seriously, it's probably because of the warmth, so I'm trying to keep this beauty warm with as much natural light as possible.

Hi James!! All of those pictures are gorgeous.. I can't believe the changes in coloration from all of the different climates. I'm hoping I will see something in a three or four weeks. Here are a few pictures to show you the growth this season. She has really taken off and I would say at least 10 inches of new growth this year..

James, mine grew a little faster this year with the new Florida Colors fertilizer. It looks pretty happy here. Hope yours all got some much needed rain!

Jen the pics I posted from Jean T. in Santa Barbara were fertilized with Excaliber this year also, per Jean. I think that might be part of the reason for her coloring. I am going to buy a ton of it next season as it is a 6 mon fertilizer and plumies really seem to luv it.

I will need to look at it more closely, I have heard it's one tablespoon to every gallon size container. .. I am not sure of the size container offered, but I know they changed up the fertilizer from last year..

Check Florida Colors web site and see what they are offering. I bet you will have to purchase ' several' containers.. I'll be right with you!! Lol...

The Excalibur IX is the 9 month formula and the new Excalibur VI is the 6 month. Super easy to use, at about a tablespoon for a 2-3 gallon pot. I did not even use an entire 64oz jar in feeding all the plumes, DRs and angel trumpets in my yard.

Candy are you loving it then or too soon to tell?
