I cannot speak to laminate, but I have been looking at some of the vinyl products that have a similar install method to laminate. Karndean has some products that are not pretending to be either wood or stone. On the Karndean website, these products appear to be just have a pattern.

Linoleum (aka: marmoleum) now comes in a click-together format...in exactly the finish you are looking for = continuous speckle/grain. As per all lino it comes in all sorts of colours.

These 2 floors are both laminate and not wood look

I'm in the same camp – if I'm installing plastic, having it faked out to look like some other material feels "dishonest" to my modern aesthetic. I was also installing it in a brick-and-timber conversion loft and I didn't want the floors to compete with those architectural elements, so I was looking for something very flat and simple.

IKEA is the only place I've found that sells solid / non-faux-wood laminate flooring. It held up really well over the 8 years I had the place; I did gouge it once when I was moving a couch and dropped a corner but that's an issue with any type of laminate. It was otherwise pretty much indestructible, spill-proof, and easy to clean. (And at that price point I didn't really care even if I had had to replace it after 15 years.) The TUNDRA, which has a light wood texture, is what I installed -- they now have a more flat, non-print one on the market as well.
