My 'parents were bought this before I was born and I remember when we kept it inside when it was quite small. However, as it grew bigger and outgrew more and more pots, we decided it was best to put it outside, as it was more natural, and thought it would do better.

We live in Britain, so, needless to say, the weather is bloody awful. The weather has damaged the poor palm and rotted the main trunk, because I don't think it ever stops raining here, so I'm going to have to cut it off now. The weather has actually been quite good this year (for Britain) and we had quite a good summer - nice and warm, so the bottom leaves on that picture started growing at a startlingly fast rate.

Will the leaves at the bottom of the tree grow like most do, lose the bottom leaves and slowly grow upwards?
