Bantels look similar, and they can be a little finicky.

I have one of these plants too. I found out that they don't like cold.

Well, I was refering to Siam Silver, but I do think they are both pretty sensitive to cold weather. It seemed that the variegated plants fared the worst. Some of the dark green ones suffered too though. I just made the mistake of putting them out in Mid May. Next year I'll wait til a couple of weeks later.

My Siam Silver aka Tenzan is now sending up new growth.

I think these are much easier than forescate or gold flame for example. I also find Siam silver easier than bantels. Sans I can't figure out how to message you

I think (not sure) tenzan and Siam are different the former rusts easily Siam does not. Not sure on this other one probably a new name.

I really don't know either. My plant came to me labeled Tenzan, i never had any problems with rust or otherwise, until early this spring when a cold snap set it back. It just sort of flopped over. Still no rust.

There is another one called 'White Striped Giant'. I think it is also the same. Looks the same. I have not had any problems with my Siam Silver. I also never had a problem with my current Bantel's Sen. Had many problems and lost the first few I had. Then got a bunch on sale for $1 a pot holding 5 to 6 plants each. Never lost a plant and gave some away. Looks exactly the same but was many times hardier. Very strange to me. Same happens when some one here sent me a bunch of Gold Hahnii. Didn't loose a single one and they puped for me.

you could always get a decoration scarf and wrap it around the bucket. Then it wI'll be very trendy looking. Kind of the way people cover underneath a table to cover up wires and stuff with tapestries?

LOL! I should be a pic. I too it out to get a piece for Sans2014 today. It is fairly root bound but primarily towards the soil surface though new rhizomes are looking for a place to break out.

Stush, interesting observation. Are you saying groups of sans. are more hardy? Possibly because the group is nearing root bound condition, and hence maximum water intake thus drying the soil faster and consequently providing better root conditions?
