what is happing?

Please explain to us the basic care of a Venus Fly Trap.

It is inside and is on a sunny window sill, I watered a couple times with bottled water out of desperation because couldn't get distilled water.

How wet is it? How humid is the air? I've seen sopping wet VFT turn yellow, and very low humidity does weird things to the leaves. Is it in full sun outdoors?

It's not in humidity dome and the roots are in damp moss going to get more distilled water for them

You still didn't list the basic care of VFT's like I asked. If you had, you would have included, "distilled water or rainwater ONLY".

How much sun is it getting? Is it outside?

No it's inside I got more distilled water for it and it gets full sun

Like oldmangroot said, they should be out in full sun, for at least a few hours.

Or it could be suffering a case of people triggering the traps to frequently, now the traps are exhausted & don't function anymore. That's what it looks like to me. I can tell because of the smaller new traps its producing.

Now the plant has expended its energy reserves is now dying. If you lucky, it won't die but instead continue growing but in a reduced size as it tries to to build up its reserves to grow new larger traps. but susceptible to fungus attacks or pests. Having a trap or two close doesn't affect it but having them close without any prey, it basically starves. It has to capture something or at least let it rest.

But boy... that is one exhausted plant...
