A bigger pot is in for if you want figs. I feed mine a 24-8-16 Miracle grow. I feed it heavily in the spring up to June and then let it go. it slows down and setts fruit. I get 10 figs per gallon of soil.

30 gallons up from 5. The tree will triple in size next year and produce at least 150 fig. The following year with a minor root prune it should approach 300 figs. She will need a lot of feed wince this tree will get all of its nutrients from fertilizer. So does yours.

Your pot is sitting in clay, on brick, next to stucco walls. Not only are the roots getting fried, the wall is reflecting heat as is the brick. Put it in partial shade and it should recover, or, repot it in well drained soil, and be sure it's getting water. Those leaves are sunburned.

Give it a nice soaking. Then, hit it with a soak of diluted miracle grow. That, along with some shade, should do it.

Soak the plant first in water before you do the miracle grow soak. Often there are isolated dry spots in soil that the water can't penetrate, so it's important to get the entire thing soaked. Because your pot is clay, I would put the entire pot in water and let it absorb water through the bottom and sides so that the Miracle Grow can really penetrate.

Your not in strait-straits yet. Figs are desert plants and can take a lot of heat and bounce back. Follow Suzi's advice and you will be fine.

Khoursed, is very very common for figs even as small as 1 foot high in a very small pot to produce good fruit. I have many that do. fertilizing is key and what I use is something a local growing has been doing for years. What impressed me was see see hundreds of potted Fig trees at his nursery loaded with fruit in one to two gallon pots! I was envious, so had to get his secret.

I am gong to say your tree looks like it is getting fertilizer burn which is usually caused from accumulated salts in a very fine mix...I would flush that mix often unless you use a more porous one ) Fertilizer burn will cause fruit drop or no fruit at all besides.

I am not sure of what others use but I use that Mg and at times Foliage Pro. I also scratch in a magic potion taught to me from a local fig grower who is very successful even with fruiting the smallest of trees!

Fertilizer burn won't happen if you fertilize weakly weekly at every watering or once every couple of weeks at full strength..I water first, then I fertilizer after..I never fertilize dry soil unless it is dripping big time out from the bottom.

Did you say your soil mix is very porous? It does not look like it from my view here. Can you take a close of of the mix? What is the mix comprised of and what ratio? It looks very rich and black.

In Saudi Arabia, do you have perlite? If so, mix some of that in and if not, mix some large grains of sand or crushed granite in with the peat moss. That could make it drain easier.

Yes Khoushed, Suzi gave you great advice.. I would not repot now but I would repot while your tree is dormant, if that is what you do there.

I would use the ingredients Suzi says, crushed granite holds up well, so does perlite...Why not use 50 & peat with 50 % perlite and or material if you have access to Turface, Crushed granite, or coarse sand?

In the meantime, stop fertilizing and if you can flush your mix every time you water, do that. You will push out the accumulated salts with time an the new leaves should stop showing distress. Peat, especially decomposed holds fertilizer salts like a sponge. Think of peat as a filter =, filtering all the junk out of the water just to build up in your mix and over time kill the finer roots.

i did transfer to slightly bigger pot and to my surprise it was root bound the root was like a ball i could not separate even after soaking it in water i figured out i should prepare a real big container rather than the pot i used but i did not have one

It looks much better! I hope it does not react badly from repotting. Did you disturb the roots? I hear they HATE repots or having their rots disturb while actively growing, then that could be just a bunch of hog wash. I have been told only to pot up or disturb roots during dormancy...I have never got brave like you and repotted one in mid growth..Hats off to you..That means Bravo!
