I am staying in a tropical country with Summer the full year long. How long will the canvas last considering the rain and the hot sun?

The canvas you see in the image is about 7 years old and has been under the hot New Mexican sun every Summer during that time. It repels water but it isn't water proof so during heavy rain water will penetrate the material. It's a very durable material made of synthetic fibers. If you are interested you should contact the manufacturer at www.shadesails.com and give them your environment and see what they say.

It's not paint but stucco since this project is in Santa Fe. It's El Rey stucco, color ochre.
