We bought an ugly house in a nice street and are busy turning it into a butterfly. Very exciting. One of the main areas of concern was the main living, dining and kitchen areas, which were pokey and small. We extended the kitchen out back to a further 3 metres - which we have knocked down walls, screeded the floors and walls and created one large living space. All white and natural wood. My husband has made all of the cupboards and the 3 metres long kitchen island over weekends and the evenings! still a work in progress and nowhere near finished yet, but it is all being done an affordable basis. I also need to buy some kitchen stools to complete the look. What do you think? Julie. Cape Town
