Sofas - Do the back rest move?

Im considering buying sofas like these from West Elm - and the back rest are movable and "weighted" down, but I'm going to use them similar to this, where they are not against a wall. I'm wondering do they shift easily? This will be the main TV room sofa and I've got a big husband and 2 boys and they lounge.
