Rick - Are Hibiscus easy to grow from seed?

Mark, this Hibiscus moscheutos is a hardy hibiscus here, can be called a Swamp Hibiscus. I believe this name is because it loves constant moisture.

in answer to your question about starting from seed. I would not say hard to start, just different treatment prior to sowing. I have started many Tropical hibiscus seeds from French Polynesia and one I started this spring has just produced flower buds. Whether the mature will be hard to say? Hope so.

These tropical hibiscus seeds need to be nicked, then soaked for 5hrs. Or not, then in propagator till breaking the soil.

They also do not come true to parent plant.
