I think covering those 2 empty sections with glass would look better as opposed to doors, since you can display your decorations as opposed to closing them off completely!

I'd put some framed photographs in there.

How about books on their side in one hole and up in the other. You could even cover them so the spines are matching.

Baskets...I think you have enough doo dads showing.

I'd remove some or all of the shelves and show a piece of glass or ceramic art.

I would move everything off the top of cabinet and all the small things off the shelves. Fill the shelves with books to add some color and use the matching vases, from the top, and maybe a plant in one open shelf. Get 3 large pictures framed and put them in the other opening

How abouta small plant on each side.

Take out the shelves and put 2 tall vases in their. You can change the plants with the seasons and bring in pops of color
