Not clear what would be white and what black in your hypothetical. I love your new floors and would be tempted to do a white or a gray with the cabinets here, but just about anything is possible if you commit to paint. (Also, you need some pulls!)

I would pant them. and remove the ones over the island if you dont absolutely need them for storage.

Gray sounds great!! Might do SW Rock bottom (drak gray) for lower cabinets, SW incredible white (off white) for upper cabinets. Thx@ acm definitely will get pulls!!

Alabaster White for the cabinets and trim. Mindful gray for the walls.

I much prefer the organic palette you have now juxtaposed against the SS. As is, I suggest staining the base/ kickboards to match the wood, and removing the small rug under the table - one rug too many. If you do go with a black and white monochromatic grey look, be prepared to repaint the walls and ceiling, and to address your table set, as well.
