I have an Irrigation controller issue I could use some help with. I have a Rain Bird ESP-M controller running five zones. All zones and programs were working earlier in the year and have now stopped with both program initiation and manual start.

After checking the voltage at the controller with the program calling for water to zone 1, I found 26 volts to the VT terminal, 26 volts to the zone 1 terminal and only 4 volts to the MV terminal. I have 240v coming into the pump relay but 0 to the pump. An interesting note is that I only get 4 volts to the MV terminal if the pump relay wire is not connected. Once I connect the relay wire the voltage drops to zero.

I tried connecting the pump relay wire to the VT terminal and maintained the 26 volts. I also had 240v across the relay but no water to the sprinklers.

I reset all of the terminal modules and reconnected both the positive and common wires to make sure of a good connection. No change.

Ideas?
