It's super hard to get rid of. I has a plant with it and finally gave up and threw it out.

You could try spraying the leaves with a mixture of dawn dish soap and water. Also get some systemic insect stuff that you put in the soil and it goes up into the roots and leaves....I get mine at Earl May. Otherwise, I would probably just get rid of it. My plant with scale did not look like that....the scale was like little watery bugs that were on the stem of the leaves...all up and down the plant. If it got bad enough (and mine did...it was a weeping fig houseplant) the leaves will fall off. I finally just got rid of my plant.

erinsean, that was very good advice. I hope it can be saved but if not I'll cut my loses. These particular scale bugs fall under the category of "armored scale", which isn't a good thing for me since they are protected by a hard "helmet". I heard that caffeine can reek havoc on these bugs but I have not yet confirmed such a thing myself. Not hurt in trying I suppose.

Anyone knows if this plant is still okay? Came back from vacation (boyfriend was watching the house) but this plant didn't get watered for 2 1/2 weeks and when I checked all leaves were crinkled, dried, and fell off. This is the last leaf left and I'm worried the plant is dead. Any advice? I watered as soon as I got back and it gets full morning sun. Theses plants like it dry but I'm just worried

It's obviously some kind of scale bug and it will kill your precious plant in no time. I used and still use on my plants for scales and many other pests- Bayer 3 in 1 spray. I bought a fiddle leaf fig, 6 foot high, with only one leaf on it, got it home, transplanted it as it was root bound, then I bought the tablets and buried down in the soil. It took off like crazy, one leaf after another. Then it got those scaley bugs, so I bought the spray...killed them all in less than 2 days. Try it
