Well, you seem to know what color you want, though I wouldn't paint the brick, but that's just me. It just makes upkeep on something that didn't need any. Instead, I would paint the siding and garage doors.

Since your front door is so set back, I think you need to redo your sidewalk that leads to it to lead the eye, and any visitors to it. Also, by pulling the sidewalk away from the edge of the house, you will have some room to enlarge the beds to grow something by the brick. Since your windows are up so high off the ground, it leaves a lot of blank brick space below them. Plants would soften the brick, and provide color.

Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of what does and does not grow in your area, so I will leave that to someone else.

Here is a rough sketch to show you what I mean. Pull up the current sidewalk. Widen the beds so that you can put larger plants in, or at least ones that can grow larger. You need the height, and to get that, you will need more width too. Curve the new sidewalk, and widen the area that meets the door. The wider area is more welcoming, you are not squeezing into a small area to get to the door. You can have a nice spot to put seasonal pots there too.

I have done the house in grey, but it is the only grey I had, lol! Maybe one a bit darker than the brick would work better. I have also added a light beside the door ( the black blot) and house numbers on the house under the window, larger and easier to find than where you currently have them. I also painted the door, just to show that you need something that is lighter and brighter to draw your eye to the door. Some kind of "thing" on the door will add interest to the flat surface of the door and add color.

Hmmm. Just wanted to show you also what your house would look like if you didn't paint anything but the door, and just changed the landscaping.

Thanks for the visual. You are so right that the current sidewalk is VERY narrow by the 3 small windows and lends very little space for plantings. I never thought about ripping it out entirely. I would however like a walkway to the curb and not only one to the driveway. We don't park our cars in the garage so we definitely need one in the direction seen. I've saved some modern landscaping ideas under my profile - I really like symmetry in cement but then breaking it up with plants (can you see those pics I chose?)

That's funny. Usually I want to suggest a sidewalk to the street and people want it to the driveway, so that's what I did, lol!

haha. well we have a stream of kids that cross over and the idea of them having stepping stones is nice. Ideally theyll use it. realistically they will trample it haha.

I know painted brick means upkeep down the road. I may need to powerwash it and reconsider. Our front door is red now though. This is a not so good photo at dusk. I am not a fan of the holly bushes on the right but dont know what to replace with. It all feels wrong.

Actually i think the existing walkway gave u more green space but u can make the entrance wider on the shape of a square the lights at the entrance is a must ! And on the walkway and beside the car entrance will make the flowers at night more appealing !

Thanks for the rendering. The fence reminded me of this image I pinned long ago. I love this, but with less of that white rock and a bit more grass. NONE of the houses on our block have any type of fencing up front, but we also don't live in an HOA so we could possibly do something like this. I would love for our house to be unique like this! We have a great tree that needs to be showcased.

I like the crepe myrtle. We actually have one like that on the other end of the house.

No worries landscaping is my passion ! I put the myrtle tree on purpose near the garage so the flowers will fall on the ground or your car front glass its somehow romantic!
U can replace it with another tree that has flowers since u have a big one in the back yard . I agree with ya go for more green areas did u notice the waterfront at the end of the walkway ?
