I've been disbudding my 2nd year, Annie Laurie McDowell climbing rose in order to encourage her to climb. However, we've had continued temps from the high 90s to 108 degrees Fahrenheit and I haven't been in the garden much lately. Thank goodness for automatic watering 2xs per week, because that is too hot for me. Well, it rained today, so I went out to enjoy the garden and what did I see? MANY buds on Annie Laurie McDowell. Epic disbudding FAIL. This rose loves to bloom the minute one's back is turned. Not a bad quality to have. I just need patience and will enjoy her blooms and graceful leaves until she decides to climb. The blooms are normally lavender -pink, but are white at the moment due to the heat.
