A beautiful plant...but it should be a freebie. Do you have a pic of what you were expecting?

How is this seller's feedback?? A shame. I have ordered and sold plants on ebay. When I sell I always include a current photo of the EXACT plant the person is bidding on and will receive along with a detailed description. I also include something in the photo for size reference (soda can, coin, dollar bill). Frustrating ordering something and getting something totally different. In this case although you got a nice healthy plant it is also one that is far more common and less expensive than what you ordered. Sometimes mistakes happen so give the seller a chance to make it right but they should respond back right away and correct the issue (send the correct plant or total refund). I no longer have 'Gold Flame' or I would send you one for postage. There are a bunch of great and generous people on this board.

That is disappointing, hopefully the seller and you can work things out amicably. The plant they sent does look nice though.

It sucks when someone with a good reputation rips you off in an underhanded way.

If it's the company I think it is they have always corrected the error with the right plant at no additional cost. I've had good luck with them.

Oh, I didn't mean regarding this specific instance. More hoping the OP doesn't have the same experience as I did.

I haven't told anyone that knows this particular vendor, people here REALLY like this person even though they charge way too much and are willing to play with words to cheat extra money out of people.

I have not heard back from the seller. I have emailed them through Etsy and from my email. Tried to find a phone number, there was none on my paypal receipt and couldn't find one listed. If I don't hear back from them I'll contact PayPal. Yes, it is a very nice plant, was packed well, sent out the day I purchased it, came in two days but it's not what I paid for. Buying the Gold Flame was a splurge for me.

Years ago I used to purchase sans from an ebay seller that is no longer on there. She had really nice plants, my favorites from her were my twisted sister and moonshine. The last plants I ordered from her had something wrong with them because my other sans got it, including a sans a received when my son was born in 1985. The only one to survive was a silver queen because it was on my kitchen counter and not outside with the other plants. It hasn't done much until this year. After that I swore I would never purchase online again. I finally gave in a bought some end of season sans from an ebay seller last fall, ballyi, patens and cylindrica. Around the same time I purchased two pots of hahnii from a local garden center for $4 and they are packed full. I am afraid to separate them but did put them in a little larger pot. In February I purchased a Whitney in a 6" pot for $6.99 from Ikea. Two years ago my mother gave me her Michael sans (that is what I call it) which was a division of my plant from 1985. She also gave me her moonshine that I had given her. She recently moved to Florida and gave me another sans and some big aloe plants. So my plant obsession continues. Lol

I heard from the seller, they are sending another plant, I hope it's the right one this time.

Doh! Wow! Nice plants but they don't know what a 'Gold Flame' is and worst since they showed a pic of 'Gold Flame'. BTW I see you are in NJ can I ask whereabouts??

Those leaves don't seem like they were curled before? It looks like they straightened it to ship it, but I can't bend mine like that so I'm a little confused.

maybe it'll spread out?

Maybe they grow them in cups to enable them to wrap them like that for shipment?

woodnative, I'm in New Egypt. I sent the seller another complaint, whomever is filling her orders is sending the wrong plant.

laticauda, it was an etsy purchase but I have since seem them on ebay and amazon. It is not a gold flame, the leaves are stiff and upright.

if WN can't get you one, I have a TINY pup from my gold flame, so I really have no idea what it'll look like when it grows up, but you're more than welcome to it, if you want it....although, it probably wouldn't be worth the shipping for such a tiny plant, lol.

I heard from the seller today. No explanation why they keep sending the wrong plant. She said she will give me a refund and I don't have to send the second wrong plant back either.

Maybe they got their picture from the Internet of gold flame and are sending out futura simplex or something because maybe they don't really know the difference. Maybe they just saw the yellow and green and thought they are the same type?

Lol, if what Justin says is true, theirs (costa farms) are hard to kill but they also list golden hahnii, and we all pretty much know that's not the case. You look at em wrong and rot they go.

I've seen that site. Have you ever been on the morningdewtropical.com website? They only sell wholesale but to see the sans in giant pots full makes me want every kind they have.

Had to contact the gold flame seller again today, no refund still and it's been a week.

Did you use PayPal? I would contact them or eBay if that's where you got it.

Stush have you ever been to the IKEA near you to get plants? I was in the So. Philly store in February and they had a lot of nice house plants. I got my Whitney there for $6.99 in a 6" pot.

All the Whitney here at bbs are not very impressive. I see pictures online and I'm like "wow, that's amazing!" But then see one in person and I'm all like....nah.

They are nice, I keep mine a bit too dark to keep the coloration bright. If they are affordable pick up one give it good light and you'll think better of them next spring.

I got some cylindrica today, they are so cute! I know I've been offered them from a very gracious individual but, I felt like I was taking too much so. Yeah. Anyway.

babies coming up from the mature leaf cuttings.sorry for my even worse than usual photography. It was dark outside so just the CFL from the right was illuminating anything. And I'm having blurry vision in one eye so I can't tell if the pictures are fuzzy or not.

I received two plants yesterday that I didn't order. A beat up BS and something else. The BS has some rust on it and it's way too wet. The other one is growing inside itself and I think it's planted too deep. I complained about the damage and wrong order and was given a full refund.

Any thoughts?

akkrm this came from the same seller? Odd. LOL! You are going to have a room full of plants but not the 'Gold Flame' ordered LOL! Well those guys should be fine repotted etc. Laticauda 'Whitney' is surprisingly beautiful......and a VERY strong, easy grower and nice size. I don't like the revers variegation....'Eve'.......but I like 'Whitney".

NO, I would never order from her again. I'm still having issues with her.

I come from a family of Nurserymen. I think if you are in the business of selling plants you should know what they are and so should your employees. I can't believe how many intruder plants, as I call them, I have, LOL.

Woodnative, do you know what that sans is? I've never seen one grow inside itself.

The second one could be a young and immature pup of the pictured plant youngster. Is it masoniana? The

leaves Look the right shape, but don't the non-variegated grow really tall?

I just repotted them. The "Rare King Congo Snake Plant" barely had any roots and looks like it was rubber banded together. The leaf to the side was no longer attached and had two tiny roots on it.

Yes the rare king congo mason plant, LOL, looks (at least in the photo) like Sansevieria masoniana. The sheeth on the new growth of these is purplish. Your plant looks almost like a kirkii (?) but it could be a masoniana.......growth is strange though. Plenty of folks on this list, including myself, grow masoniana and the others you ordered and would be happy to share. Sayuri looks like 'Siam Silver'. I have both of these types here in NJ

Yes it is a shame, nurserymen should know better, the better ones do and will correct if they make a mistake. What type of nursery business did your family have?? Neat! Do you know any of the Russell's (Russel Gardens) from Churchville, Pa?

I thought it was sans masoniana when I saw the picture. When I unpotted it, you could see the crown was really under far. I pulled the bigger leaf off of the smaller new growth. It looked liked a hot dog in a bun. It's very smooth but the bigger leaves have a dry edge on them. The rhizome was not as big as the masoniana variegated I have.

My mother's cousins are running the nursery my grandfather and his brothers started. They were originally in Elizabeth which is where I am from. The nursery is still in business but I don't want to name them here and they are no longer in Elizabeth . They sell trees, shrubs and at one time did large landscaping jobs. My uncles also had their own nursery business

but the two that are left are retired. My uncle gave us the greenhouse we just put up.

Nice that you have a greenhouse to use!! I mention the Russel's as they were a big perennial and herb wholesaler for many years,and a family business. They delivered and knew a lot of the businesses in NJ. They also had/have a retail garden center store. I worked there for many years.....many years ago. Still family owned although the wholesale unfortunately is not anywhere near what it once was.

cool that you already have a variegated masoniana!!! if this is the unstable variegated from it will also throw up solid green branches occasionally. masoniana gets BIG!! Quite a collection you have there already!!
