I have a green house that I use in the winter for some of the plants. If I used it in the summer, man, it gets 120 degrees easy in there and its open at the ends. I would say you may be better off building some isolation cages like the professionals do if you plan to use something like this in summertime.

I've got a GH too, with sides and ends that roll up, and with a shade cloth that goes on over the polycarbonate roof. It regularly gets 110 in there in Texas summers, so I'm familiar with GH heat. My tomatoes are usually finished in July, before it gets really hot too. This would only be used through early summer to prevent stink bugs from ruining the determinate varieties. Until this year, I never had a problem with sucking insects on the peppers, specifically red varieties, like ghosts and red habs. The bug netting is white too, which may reduce the heat factor. I do isolation cages for squirrels and birds, but it'd be a PITA for individual pepper plants as I plant a lot.
