While many will tolerate full sun, any Japanese maple appreciates shade during the hottest part of the day, like from 2pm on. Or dappled or filtered all day shade (partial shade).

There are many big old Japanese maples next to buildings around here but if you don't want something as tall as the house and as wide or wider than the plant is tall in that particular spot you will have to find another place for the tree - which is what this one looks to be, a regular tree form Japanese maple. In my area we have some of these over 40' across.

Already it appears to be leaning away from the house, as though it doesn't like where it is either.

Otherwise it is feasible to prune it to remain within the space if you know how to prune. And this pruning will only serve to contain the specimen as long as it is kept up.

I have another question about what's happening to my Oleander. Do either of you know what this is?

We have had a lot of rain. They also had yellow aphids on them so I sprayed them with neem oil. They are in containers, so I was considering planting them in the ground but if they are infected I don't want them spreading what they have to my good plants.
