Well, just how cold did it get? How old/established is the plant? Where are you located?

Usually just one cold-ish night is not going to cause leaf drop. If hard frost, that is a different story.

There must be more to this story and we don't have enough data.

Just started leafing out. Had about 3 leaves on each of 3 branches. Nighttime low got to 53. The other plumerias were fine. This one, not.

So, it's a rooting cutting? Are you sure it has roots at this point? Newly rooted or rooting cuttings are pretty sensitive to cold temps. You want to keep them warm, or risk having them slow down, or worse, shut down entirely. Make sure you keep it dry until it is rooted for sure.

53 degrees is nothing to a well-established plant.

You still did not say where you live. We need the whole picture.

I would move it inside and if you have lights, put it under them.

Dave, It was quite leafed out and was a rooted cutting to begin with. I had just watered it so should I change out the soil to dry or just leave it? It is under lights in the house now.

I live in south central PA.

As long as it has roots, you should be ok. I would not mess with repotting. That will make things worse. Just keep it warm. Set lights on at least 14 hours for now.
