Here's close ups of the curtains..

Are those ready made curtains. Can't tell for sure, but if you are doing drapery window coverings make sure the rods are hung high, almost to the ceiling, to add height to your room and windows. Also make sure there is enough fullness.
A beautiful cream custom linen panel would look pretty, bring some texture and warmth to the room.

The 84" panels won't work if you want to hang them higher than the top of the window.

Is that a baseboard heaters below the windows ? If so, PLEASE don't put curtains there lest your house start on fire. My husband is a 30+ year career firefighter, and I guess I've learned to see fire hazards, and one of the easiest ways to start your house on fire is having something too close to a baseboard heater.

Go with Roman shades or wooden shutter or something. A beautiful room isn't worth the risk of a house fire!!

Thanks for noticing those heaters! Can they be relocated to another wall? If not custom Romans will look great.

Baseboard heaters are supposed to be put under a window to function properly--the heat hits the cool air by the window and is forced out into the room if I understand it correctly. You might look in to putting a small electric heater somewhere else in the room. We took out our baseboards and put in electric heaters when we moved into our house years ago. They do an okay job of heating the room, but we mostly rely on our pellet stove to heat our home.

Another type of heater you might look in to are oil filled electric radiators that are a radiant heater so they heat the objects and people in the room, not the room itself. My husband is planning on buy a couple for his elderly parents as they live in an old house with wood heat that goes out in the middle of the night. Here's a link to one I found on Amazon.com And again, you want to keep everything away from any heat source to prevent fire.

I think I would do custom roman blinds. It looks too dangerous.
