Yep, I like the texture and that it has the taupe trim. I'd say go for it if the size is right and the color compliments the duvet. You are doing a great job :)

Ohh, I like that pillow idea :) What's more comfortable on the chairs? If the seats are pretty close to the cover of your coverlet, then I'd stay with them. That way if you change things up in the Spring you don't have to change those out. Of course, this could all change with the selection of the pillow fabric.

I would put lumbar pillows on your chairs and not change the covers on the cushions. The off white cushions tie in nicely to your light coverlet and the blinds. And the texture of the chairs is interesting so don't cover it with large pillows.

A playful accent in addition to the lumbar pillows may be nice. I'm wondering if it should be botanical though, not an animal.

Love what im seeeing, however, not sure if anyone suggested accessorizing your night stands. The lamps look good, like the taupe shades, add a stack of old books (laying flat), or a pretty box for jewelry or TV remote. Dont clutter it up, but some personality on each side table will help.

Oh, and I found these on the West Elm site. We don't have a store near us so it's hard to know if the color is correct. I know the teal is probably too dark.

I like everything about Target feathers. Their proportion to the Griggs is better, not having a matt I think works better with the Griggs and it appears that the frames work with each other. Go for it!

Is there a place you were thinking of for the vases? You mention the teal may be too dark. If it is in the same tone but darker, that would be a nice contrast with your lighter teal.

I do have the mirror that came with the bedroom set. It's much simpler but it's just brown wood.

I like the silvered mirror but without anything on the dresser it looks too stark that's what is throwing you off I think- can you pop a couple of items up in varying height so you (and us) can get a feel for it?

buy new night tables that are wider so they can be centred with the window and still be close to the bed. with such a large room larger night tables would look more appropriate and appealing.

Since you have the wood mirror, too, if I were you I would figure out what I want on the dresser first, disregard the mirror as you decide and then decide what mirror works with the arrangement. I'm going to go look for a vase that is multi-color as I think that may be the way to go on one end and the other candlesticks.

Are you happy with the Griggs & feathers? It filled out that wall nicely.

Try bigger shades in a different colour, and maybe some throw pillows to coordinate. Your room is beautiful

Wonderful room to work with! What I wonder about is the orangish/coral color you are thinking about. I don't see that color working as well with your horse pictures. Color can be hard to see when not in person, but the hues I see from a distance are pinky/purplish hues w/the blues. I know you love the little turquoise table, but I wonder if that is what is making your colors hard to work with. Again, my input might not be right based on how I see color on my end. I do like the soft look w/soft colors as accents. Good luck!

Anina, I hate to be a party pooper, but I think the color-wheel opposites of teal and orange seem too jarring in a bedroom. I'd stick to a simpler neutral scheme (I agree with Karen Dumont), accented with shades of restful teal. If the window frames are yellowish, I'd paint them a satin finish version of your wall color, maybe one tone lighter. I think a restful bedroom should not contain too many different colors, except in small amounts like artwork, accessories, or maybe a patterned rug.

I was originally going with just teal and taupe but I think adding the little bit of coral will be nice for winter. The pillow covers I ordered are a very soft coral (I hope, since I haven't seen them in person). There is some orange-y coral in the Grigg painting. I'm definitely not planning on adding any really bright colors. Those West Elm vases are probably not happening.

Saw this vase last week and think it may work on the dresser. Depends on the color of the pillows.

Progress!

The coral pillows came and they're perfect other than the fact that the 20" covers are too big for the 20" inserts. I now have to decide whether to buy 22" inserts or see if I can shrink the covers somehow.

I also found linen colored lampshades but I'm worried that they may be too small. They're a tad smaller than the current ones and, since that was the reason for this discussion to start with...

What do you think? (It still has the plastic covering from the store on so please ignore that.)

What is up with PB and their sizing? I have run into the same issue recently with PB - bought 3 pillow covers of different shapes and sizes and every single one is too big for its insert!

I like the original shades on the lamps better - the straight barrel shape looks classier and more interesting than the cone.

Not sure about the 3rd feather - can you take a picture showing a larger perspective with it leaning against the wall?

Your pillows look amazing! I would definitely get the right size inserts; don't try to shrink the covers. As far as the lamp shade, I think I like the white better. It feels clean and crisp and works nicely with your wall color. I like the contrast of the white with the khaki walls.The linen is slightly off in color.

This wasn't your original vision for your bedroom so how are you feeling about this new look?

1. Lampshade: I think the linen color grounds the lamp whereas the white gets lost in the window.

2. New Feather Picture: 2 is enough in that room. I don't know if it has enough color nor if the size is right but would it work horizontal in the niche above the fireplace?

3. Clock: Good but would you prefer one that is a quieter clock so that it is functional? If looks rules over functionality, good one to keep.

You're welcome but as I know you know it was a group effort that has gotten you to this point. I think the great thing (at least one of the things) about this forum it's like friends sitting down over a cup of coffee (or depends on the time of day!) and just bouncing off ideas back and forth. Often the poster knows what they want but just need someone else to say "yes, you're going in the right direction or give this a try."

It appears the coral is softening the wood window trim? (if that makes sense!) I like the coral on the bed, too.

You might want to measure the wall area above the chest so while you're shopping for the dresser accessories you can look for accessories for the chest & wall, too. As I think you still need to address that area?

I haven't been following along, but I always buy one size bigger feather inserts for pillows. Crate and Barrel has a 22" size and their prices for inserts are pretty good.

Yes, I think the candlesticks would work with foxy. If this is the way you go, the other end you may want to consider an interesting all glass vase and fill it with some dried flowers/berries picking up the coralish/red color. Something like this.

There wasn't a 3rd size in the candlesticks but Foxy can go somewhere else if he really won't work here and we can find something else that will.

Brought the mirror that matches the dresser up. It's smaller than the more ornate one and may have to go upright instead of landscape.

I also tweaked the layout of Foxy and the candles a little and now it seems better. Or maybe it's just my imagination.

Actually, that was a subtle change, but definitely one that made a difference. I think they look good together. I think what did it is that now you can see the bases of both candleholders.

I like the wood framed mirror better than the silver one with these accessories. If you want to keep the silver mirror I would try less rustic decorations.

LOL. Thanks Tracey! The mirror wasn't feeling quite right to me but I think if I repeat some of the metallic elements on the other side like you did in your mockup it'll work.

I'm leaning towards the wood mirror but will wait to see what you do on the other side before giving my "final" vote. That being said, since that mirror would be smaller, a larger, taller flower arrangement might work better to fill in that space a bit better.

As far as the chest, I think you have some framed pictures on it? Without seeing them I'd keep them there. Maybe both to one side and one slightly in front of the other. Find a nice (carved?) decorative box so hubby or you can throw change or whatever into it if you like. Maybe this will go slightly off center in the other direction of the frames. Art piece on the wall above and that could be it.

Ted - Thanks for checking in! I was out of town for 2 weeks, then Thanksgiving, now the Holidays, so not much to report here. I returned the candlesticks I bought for the dresser. They just were not working for me with the mirror. I bought a tray for the tall chest but it's still a work in progress. Looking for a picture to hang there. I'll take some photos later today and post them.

The light wood trim around your Windows is really distracting in such a beautiful room. They should be stained darker or painted out in a cream or white paint including the floor boards.
