Post some pictures as seeing the room is more helpful than looking at a diagram. And you'll get more response.

What about the dimensions on the left? How much room do you have between that window on the left (I assume it's a window) and the 82" wall? (Is it enough room to fit the depth of an upper cabinet, or will it block the window?) I'm assuming those are all windows, and no external doors. 46" high window sill is plenty of room to fit standard height cabinets underneath.

Home Depot actually has a pretty good design service, and it's free even if you don't end up buying cabinets/countertops from them. You can bring in measurements and they put them in a design program, and they can place cabinets etc. around in the room, and print out pictures showing what it would look like.

I would recommend turning that half wall into a bar/breakfast bar. We had a half wall between our kitchen and living room, and we knocked it down and replaced it with a bar height counter, with the overhang on the kitchen side and a bookshelf on the living room side. Best thing we did when we remodeled, and it's now one of our favorite features in the house!
