Maybe someone in S. Florida can give you better advice.

These plants bloom when they want...but also depends on establishment, variety, and how many growth tips and the stages and maturity levels of the growth tips. I would think your plant needs a year or two to get established. When did you plant this plant? It was dormant when you purchased it?

Do you have a picture of the plant?

It was dormant when I put it in the ground, around the first week in March. within maybe a month it put out leaves. First flowers came a month after that.

Looks like Aztec Gold. Besides the leaf curl (do you think that is from rust) It looks pretty good and just needs to get established.

No its not a normal routine but give it time to establish itself. I agree it does look like AG.

I'm pretty sure I had whitefly and aphids too. I sprayed them with Neem, and gave them a drench pesticide (Bayer shrub and tree I think?) and the new leaves have started coming in more normal. Guess I need to start treating these every three months or so with a systemic?
