Very cool time progression photo series Koi, the form is excellent. May I ask how much time passed between photo #1 and photo #2?

Hi Cynthia, Sinha and Tracy thanks for your comment. Well, Tracy from photo#1 and photo#2 it was done immediately. It depicts the transfomation before and after and the third photo was two weeks later.

How did u get it to bend so much without breaking the main stem? That looks awesome.

The new growth looks great. Do you plant to cause the form to curve around or continue down. I assume you are checking the wire just about every month to prevent wire indentations on the branches during the main growing season since adeniums are very soft. Please explain in some greater detail, just how you got the caudex to bent so abruptly without breaking. Was water withheld until the caudex/branches dehydrated enough to become pliable? Were the bends then put in gradually, after the plant dehydrated, or in one bending session?

Once planted into the right pot, I will bet the tree will become more beautiful as time goes by, especially, when in full flower.

Hi Frank, thanks for your comments. The bending was done in two stages. First, during seedling stage(about 4" height) it was planted horizontally instead of its usual vertical form. Then the above was done at one session, No dehydration.

That's surprising to read. I'd have guessed that you would've waited for the plant to soften, before bending it. I was wrong. You have gotten some interesting results with your training methods. Hope all goes well in future and that you can get this plant to conform to your envisioned plans.

Hope all is well with this very interesting plant. I could imagine how beautiful this plant will become in 5-10 years, with more training, branches, flowers, and planted into a good pot that's made for cascading plants.

The potential for a great looking, specimen plant, is certainly here.
