Choosing a white trim colour and finish

I have had my walls painted in my traditional house with Farrow and Ball "Pointing"...can your recommend a trim color and finish? BM "Chantilly Lace" in pearl finish was recommended, but it looks quite stark and the finish looks unfinished...think I'll go back to semi-gloss
