GT6000 leaking transaxle

Hi, I've got an opportunity to purchase a 2011 Craftsman GT6000 garden tractor with a leaking transaxle. I have not seen it yet, but I plan to go look at it this evening. It's a 26HP, 54" cut mower. Guy is asking $300 and says he was told the transaxle is non-serviceable, so he's just selling the mower "for parts".

The mower number is 917.28861, transaxle is a Hydro-gear G7-BCBB-1XDC-1FCA. Does anybody know if this unit is actually serviceable? I'm very mechanically inclined and not afraid to dive in if it's serviceable. This sounds like a great deal if I can get it fixed.
