Missing electrical outlet

Since it is the weekend and our GC is not available for questions I thought I would run this by y'all. We just visited our build and noticed that the electrical outlet that should be in the guest bath is not there. All the drywall and painting is finished, just want to know if the outlet can be added at this point. Looking at the floorplans it shows there is to be an outlet there but it must have gotten missed.

It might have been covered with drywall.

I hope so because I really need an outlet in there. The electricians have said they were finished, but I found another outlet that just has the wires nothing hooked up, so they will be coming back.

Actually I think it's code to have an outlet even in a bathroom.

It can be added, and certainly not at your expense. I would bring it up to the builder soon rather than later so they can add the outlet.

They missed an outlet inside our small utility closet. I wanted it for charging my cordless vacuum. It was easily added.

Yes I will be speaking with him on Monday

Yes the one in our closet is the one that is there but not wired up, so I know they will have to come back to get that one right.

We had a WINDOW that the drywallers forgot to cut out. That was pretty noticeable and an easy fix. If they can miss a window surely they can miss an outlet. I hope it's that simple for you too!

Our framers also missed two windows and we told the GC and he said all framers do things differently they were not finished yet. After all the other windows were installed, the drywall was up and painted and the boards up on the outside porch the windows were still missing. At that point the GC had to call the framers back to frame and install the missing windows.

I know he will fix this, I just wish it had been noticed earlier.

We were remodeling our current house which is the house I grew up in - mobile home from the 70s so it had some paneling in it. We removed the paneling from one wall to put up sheetrock and found the wire loop going down one stud to where an outlet would have made sense, but was obviously never installed.

Drywall wizards in the last house covered the cold air returns. The brilliant HVAC team put grills up over the drywall where the holes were supposed to be. "Not my job" run rampant. Even more hilarious (not) was that the HVAC guys then couldn't figure out why the heat/AC didn't work in that part of the house.

Thanks rwiegand for the laugh. I am sure at some point way down the road I will be able to laugh at some of the mis steps in this process, but right now I feel like I have lost what little mind I had to begin with.

I should have know this was going to be a rocky ride when we noticed right before they were going to pour the slab, that the toilet for the guest bath was going to be in the guest bedroom closet.

A neighbor of one of my friends came home to find what looked like a tiny chase covered in drywall in the middle of her hallway in the addition. There wasn't supposed to be anything running up through the hallway so they uncovered it. It was a random 2x4 that someone had propped up in the hallway, covered with drywall.

    Sandy-

If it makes you feel any better, my contractor -- who is very competent -- told me about the time he finished up installing all the in-wall plumbing for a bathroom remodel and re-sheetrocked the walls. That night he got a call from the client at about midnight saying that their cat was missing and they thought it was inside the wall. It had quietly sneaked into a rather large interior space and made no noise as they closed up the wall.

Pal and kudzu - oh my gosh. Those are classic! Thankfully we moved in with both kids and dog visible and fairly clean of build material. Wow.
