That's the best place for one ! It's closest to the source of the warm moist air that you want exhausted out of your house. And, sue's deco fixture isn't actually in the shower.

Broan's 744 is a perfectly acceptable unit inside a shower and is approved for such. Panasonic also has a similar model at twice the price. It works quite well as long as you use ridgid ducting (your contractor will beef though) and the runs aren't too long.

Thank you all. Food for thought. Our light/fan that hubby installed a few years ago, outside shower was so powerful (? cfm) that it made the shower cold. Contractor for the bathroom suggested this can light/fan combo in shower. Will ask which one-don't want noise. Looks like alot of them are 70 cfm's. Experienced lighting person said Minka-Lavery 4847 fixture should be fine in ceiling near shower. Maybe the style of it, not so enclosed is better? The vanity lights that match are damp rated but they are not near the shower LOL.
