Aqua to match the pool

I've never heard of fire glass. Checked it out , but still not sure what you are using it for. Presumably that thing that looks like (but isn't?) a barbecue?

Aqua would be awesome if the pool lights up at night to also enhance as aqua. If the lighting changes the color of the pool appearance, look to that color as another option.

maybe a mixture of aqua and royal blue to coordinate with the pool both day and night

Aqua...compliment the pool and as the background for the flames, it will really set them off...think they would be lost in the reflective gold but would have to see a photo. Beautiful back yard.

We bought black glass because we were told that the glass changes color from the propane. Which we have found that there is a black haze on the glass from burning.

Love the gold! Bronze is also nice, as is a grey/mirror finish. One thing I don't find works as well as many people seem to think is bright blue/aqua/turquoise. It can look quite overwhelming in the daylight and doesn't accent the fire as well as other colors at night. Just one opinion among many but I think a mellower, warmer color is better to accent the flames. I would say to add bright color elsewhere like on pillows, art or tile, not fire glass.

one more question- to those that have fire glass- if i keep the fire put covered when not in use will I be ok using some lava rock as a base?

I think that the bronze will add a beautiful effect to your fire feature with the colors that you currently have. Post pictures when you have it up and running!

tim, I haven't done that, but think it would work. I might mix them say, 30/70 rather than half and half so one is more predominant and the other an accent.

the only reason i ask- i ordered 10 lbs of copper 1/4 inch and 20 lbs of 1/2 gold reflective. So i was trying to figure out which to return.....maybe i will mix a handfull of each and see how the contrast looks....

We mixed bronze and gold to get the look we liked for our fire pit, so I think yours will look great. At night you get blue from the flames , which will look great with your pool lights, and the gold/copper colors will look more natural during the day then using aqua.

Just looking from a practical point of view in that there seems to be plenty of shade on the pool so the darker the colour the better... warm water always more fun.

We've found our local hardware store gave us better fibre glass prices than the pool companies, and will let you know what colors they can mix.

My opinion

Going the gold/bronze/dark brown would blend the pool into the hard landscaping, So if the rest of the interior of the house tends to go with a theme eg the bedroom purple/lavender/Blue and sitting room browns/greys, let the pool area go with a brown gold theme as well. The colors the others have shown are awesome.

But if you have contrasts in the house go with a dark blue/black. Don't go purple the yellow in the bricks would be the opposite to the pool and your eyes will always be drawn the the yellow bricks and not the pool.

Lastly ask your local pool supplier if he has any off cuts of fiberglass and if they could be painted to the two colors you are thinking of. Hang them from the side of the pool, and I'm sure a glass of wine with the family will come out with the best color, if not you'll have more fun

Regarding lava rocks mixed with fire glass, our contractor used lava rock as a base then placed fire glass on top of a grid over lava. Since the glass is so expensive this saved us some money. We used copper reflective glass purchased from a fireplace store in San Diego, ca. We like the end result. Maybe this color glass would warm your firepit up?

I would allow the darker color to be dominant for sure - the copper.

I think more cooper.(darker color)The color is warming and it also picks up the color in your outdoor slate. Too much of the clear, might start to look like real ice:).

I thought of the same color you did. I like the choice obviously. Don't forget you can do a gradient! I think a ring of watery aqua around the outside edges would look amazing.

I think it will turn out nice with more cooper. Show picture when complete. Enjoy your new fire pit.

I would do the Royal or the Royal and Aqua mixed.

gold would be pretty at night.
