    The rods are stainless steel, so no. The steel can be pre-powdercoated or painted onsite, it really depends on how the stair is built. If it is manufactured in a shop, it is preferable to have powder-coating done there, and then the stair is assembled onsite with bolts. If the stair is welded onsite, it has to be site painted, as powder coating requires special equipment. Powder coating provides a superior finish, and we specify it, when practical.
