Lovely roses--and welcome to the forum.

It is our custom here to post the names of each rose pic either before or after the pic. You can go back and click on the EDIT button (top of box)--that will allow you to type in the names. We would appreciate it.

Again, welcome to the Land of Rose Obsession. : )

Thank you, Sophia. I thought I recognised Afternoon Delight, Splice, Maxivita and Sightsaver among your beautiful collection. Doesn't Sightsaver have a lovely fragrance.

Hello Sophia, thank you for posting such beautiful pictures. Princess Alexandra of Kent particularly caught my attention but they're all lovely and so well-grown.

Thank you all. I am starting to love David Austin and hybrid tea roses. Really regret that most of my roses are floribunda. Now I really want to replace some of them but I don't think my hubby will let me.

The Alnwick rose looked so beautiful in photos but they are very small in real life. Disappointed but hope they will bloom bigger next year.

Simply stunning Sophia! Welcome to the best enabling site on the net :) I loooove English roses as well! But you'll be happy with your floribundas too! Lots of booms with those. Don't give up on Alnwick! My sil (pretty petals) enabled me with that one and she's an absolute beauty! Some of these babies take a while to really get going. You'll be amazed come spring!

Many roses do take 3 years to settle in and show off. Particularly Austins.

I only had 3 Austin roses for many years (Heritage, Abraham Darby and Evelyn). I added 3 more last year. 2 globulars (Charles Darwin and Jude the Obscure) and Sharifa Asma. What I've discovered when Charles Darwin bloomed is that I am no longer lusting for a globe every time I see a great picture of one here. Evelyn satisfied my lusting for quartered blooms. (Heritage and Abraham I could live without - bought based on others' good opinions.) So take your time to see what really twangs your heart strings. You may find one in that color or shape does the trick.

Thank you, Irishal. By the way, i am also interested in Evelyn and abraham darby based on msny posts here in this forum. Could you please give me more info about these two roses in terms of disease resistant, bloom size and colour, bush size and repetition.

    Thanks in advance.

Very lyrical description of Evelyn, irisgal. :) I love it!!
