very cool. Did you start them from seeds? I'm hoping to get to grafting in a few years. Just have to get some stock collected first. How long did it take for the grafts to take once you made the initial cut?

Bob, The root stock is from my own seeds, just common pinks. The plants I used for grafting were from a friend who had a quad and a double red/white. I left the plastic and rubber band on for 10 days then removed the rubber band but left the plastic sit over the top still. Then after a few more days I could see new shoots and then removed the plastic. One of the grafts had new shoots before the 10 days was up.

Prick, thanks for your reply. I think I will stick with the flat graft then if it makes no difference. The look is so much neater and as u say can blend in easily.

The v-graft is just easier to hold together since the scion tends to slide less. But I personally do not think it is worth years of ugly cleft so I prefer flat grafts too, Christine. Congrats!
