if you want the sides to roll up it is a bit complicated. if you don't want them to roll up then bury them.

ok. Thanks!

I use old 2 x 4's if I am securing Agribon type row cover or plastic and sometimes I use bricks especially at the end of the row. The 2 x 4's work great. You can easily lift them off and roll up or throw off the plastic to one side if you want full sun. Here (just below Atlanta) it may freeze at night but get fairly warm during the day. So, if using plastic for row cover, it has to be opened during the day. The 2x4's make this easier.

Thanks! I worked in a wholesale nursery years ago that had a few hoop houses, but I forgot how they secured the ends. We've had small greenhouses for years, so I know they have to be opened up in the daytime.

I built a PVC house a few years ago and I went with poly latch/ wiggle wire attached to the ground board. It is a bigger investment up front, but the ease of use is very worth it. My sides don't roll up, I just open the end doors in the morning and close them in the evening. The one I built is 12X32 and about 6' tall at the center. I used 3/4" grey pvc conduit for the hoops, 3/4" x 6" deck boards for the ground boards, secured with ground stakes made of 1/2" steel conduit pipe cut in 2' sections pounded in every 3 or 4 feet. I bought surplus greenhouse film for a song from AM Leonard. Total investment was about $500. It has withstood huge wind gusts (40-50 mph) and isr going into its 3rd year now. I do knock snow off when it comes, and I roll the plastic off to one side in the summer.

We got free greenhouse grade plastic from a local grower. We just use wood we already have and PVC that someone gave us. I like the idea of just opening the doors on both ends. We don't get snow here.
