I assume that you meant to say "60 w equivalent," which is actually around 8.5 watts. $2.50 is a good anchor price. Walmart has Great Value (brand) bulbs on sale for $2.44 from Oct. 16 to 31, at least, in the Chicago area. Check the advertising insert in your Sunday news paper.

Yes, theoretically, at equal lumens and color temperatures, these LED bulbs are better for plants than fluorescent bulbs made for household lighting.
