thanks. I was thinking that too but don't hoyas like to be root bound? I'm doing some reading trying to find an example of the ideal root systems

I think *general* rule of thumb for established plants is that you don't want to up-pot any more than 2" at a time, but i might be making that up. I just repotted a 10-year old KQ that was totally compacted in a 6" pot, so I went up to 8" and she's happy as a clam.

if yours is happy after up-pot then I might be in trouble because I down potted, hopefully it pulls through because I really love this pot :)

Hoyas do prefer to be root bound tho. Just pretend it's a bonsai! ;)

well, i shall find out i guess because i decided to keep them bound for now. i hear thats what they like so much, so i guess i will try.
