if the window is wide at all, you can change the current window for an awning-style window that spans the upper portion of the opening. you'll be able to get a shower-ready finish on it and just have to patch below it outside. the sill can be tiled and tip down and away from the window.

if your existing window is narrow you'd want to change it for a wider one, with a new header.

if you don't have a house next door with floors above you, you dont even need to have obscuring glass.
