Frost protection -- open pots with hot water under row covers?

I've created a kind of frost blanket "tent" for my morning glory (twined around a 6' trellis) which I want to get past tomorrow morning's 27-degree frost. The rest of the week looks warm.

I've read suggestions to put (capped) milk jugs of warm water out there under row covers. But is there any reason to not put open pails of, say, hot water? Seems the humidity would be good to keep the air temperature high under the cover.
