I grew the small one and I think I have 14. I picked most of them today.

I didn't plant any. My garden was under water for most all of May and June and even into early July. At the point where I could have planted some, I chose not to because all the spring crops were producing so heavily that I didn't want to yank out anything to make room for them. I barely got melons planted, but those melons are still producing and we've enjoyed them a lot, so I suppose I don't really regret not planting the winter squash. I only had half a garden this year because of the endless rain and flooding, so the things like winter squash, Armenian cucumbers, southern peas, okra and cukes that normally go into the big back garden never even made it into the ground. We ended up having volunteer southern peas in the front garden so we got those anyway despite not planting any on purpose. We had a pretty wonderful garden year anyhow, even with half a garden. Today I intend to harvest the rest of the southern peas, watermelons, tomatoes and peppers before the forecasted rain arrives.

I planted Seminole for the first time this year. First planting was wiped out by renegade chickens. The later planting didn't thrive. But I did get three very small fruit. Two are hand pollinated, so, I'm good for next year.

I gave seed to a friend in town. He had a very good crop.

I counted again and I have harvested 18 and have 3 more that I can see in the garden that 'may' have time to finish. I think I planted 6 seeds along a four foot wide trellis (narrow end of a cattle panel), that they didn't climb much but they crawled all over the garden. I'm not sure how many plants there really were but it was probably 3 or 4. I will not be surprised if I find more squash as I clean things up. I found several hiding under pepper plants. This was my third time to plant Seminole and the first time to get what I really wanted. Year one they didn't germinate. Year two I got the large Seminole (maybe), but it was not the same shape and color that I expected. Guess 3rd time was charm, and I finally have lots of small squash. I am also still getting Zucchetta.

I have pole beans that have done almost nothing all year but are now covered in beans. I picked a few yesterday, but by the weekend I should have a lot more. I still have a few tomatoes, a lot of peppers and squash, and a few herbs. I didn't plant anything for Fall.

Where did you get your seed? So I wont make the same mistake. I personally would rather have the small ones as they would be easyer to handle. I think the large ones are to big for what I want.

Because of the weird weather in the spring and June, I didn't get mine planted until July. The vines are a little...anemic looking and I only have one fruit. It's a little bigger than a softball now. That's it.

It's the first time I've grown it and I've read stories about how well they grow...how they sprawl everywhere, so I'm a little disappointed.

I think my seed came from Baker Creek (www.rareseeds.com), but so did the ones I planted earlier, so I'm not sure you would get the right one. I planted 2 squash that would easily cross so my seed probably wouldn't be true or I would send you some. I'm afraid that I'm not much help.
