Whether you stay with white and green, or go to new colors, I'd recommend painting the vertical corner boards green, and the cornice too. That will pull it together.

White is so crisp and refreshing in summer, but is kind of depressing on a sleety March day.

What colors make you feel good in your wardrobe. Your favorite sweater? Sometimes that's a good place to begin thinking about the range of colors you'd like for your house, something you'll like to come home to.

Get pint or quart cans and test them on a back corner. Wrap the test patches around the corner so you'll see how they behave in differing lighting. This may start to feel a little expensive, but in the end it is a lot less expensive than painting the whole house and then realizing you aren't happy with it.

You weren't asking, but... if you replace the iron post with a slender wooden column (I'd recommend a classical form like slim doric, definitely not a turned victorian affair), that corner of the house would have more visual coherence. But, if your budget is like mine, one thing at a time!

It really is an attractive house- it has lots of curb appeal and from this photo all of the paint appears to be in good shape.

If you are just looking for a different look, I wonder if you could accomplish more with a few finishing touches. A few more foundation shrubs, window boxes that larger (one under each front window extending the length of the sills) and the post mentioned above.

I think it's adorable and agree maybe just some more landscaping, window boxes, etc.

It would be great if you could extend the porch to meet the end of the house. Replace the black railings with white railings and white support beam. The green chair would fit in the corner of your porch and you could add green planters to bring the green over to this side of the house. The extended window boxes is a great idea. Think about Walpole for front lantern ideas. Great company that would look great with your existing home.

Not sure if you could do this, but thinking to extend the sidewalk area to the right with paving stones and create an area under the window box for a couple of nice chairs and take the one by door off.

Your home has potential. What is missing is landscaping and sense of approach. As for the green trim, it dates the house back to the 1950's.

If uncertain don't go at this alone, there are many professionals who can meet and discuss your likes and dislikes and prepare quick renderings that can depict different color combinations and landscape ideas. From there you can make a decision which meets you taste and budget.
