Plum tree blooming?

Hi All,

My fruiting Plum tree is blooming. Is that normal? I have had it maybe 5 years. This year in the early summer I got about 15 Plums off of it. Small but yummy. Yesterday I noticed it is full of flowers. I has always only flowered in the spring. What is going on?

And before anyone asks, I think it is a Santa Rosa, Redish purple skin on Plums, yellow gold flesh and tangy. I think you can see all the little white blossoms in this picture. Is it trying to fruit again?

Its confused as the rest of us about the weather. It won't put on fruit and if it does, first frost they will drop. It happens.
