The plant in the picture is not a Lily. It's Gladiolus murielae aka Acidanthera murielae.

I agree with floral - mine are just now finishing their bloom cycle. A source of some confusion maybe that these are commonly referred to as peacock lilies or peacock orchids, although they are neither a lily nor an orchid :-)

Thank you floral for your identification, much appreciated. I trolled through hundreds of pics of lillies on photobucket, but the one you identified was the only pic I found on any lily website so I was suspicious it may not be a lily. Gardengal , thanks. Probably why it is often confused with Lilies.
