That's good to hear. I like that they can be stacked well when empty. What kind of plastic do you use to cover the top with? I was wondering if I should get something heavy or just a saran wrap type. I also had a thought to place a layer of screening across the top, perhaps for extra support of the plastic or even instead of plastic. Maybe instead isn't good since it would not keep enough humidity in.

I haven't done this before. Wanted to another year but I never got around to it and the seeds went in the fridge for storage instead.

I use the regular food storage bags - the cheap ones from the dollar store. They hold up fine. You could probably get two covers out of one bag.

Bags from cereal and crackers make good transparent tops, too. They are heavier than plastic wrap or baggies and hold up really well through rain and snow. The rim left after cutting away the non-clear center holds the "cereal/cracker bag" cover snugly in place. This method works well with butter, cottage cheese, and similar with the tops cut out.

Good suggestion. I will have to ask a friend to keep some for me. I rarely buy anything that uses that type of wrapping. Thanks!
