I got a pair of crocs backless clogs this year. They could fit better, but just hose them off when dirty. I'd rather go barefoot, but I have dogs who prefer the garden paths.

I really like my Sloggers waterproof shoes. I bought my first pair at a Home and Garden show a few years ago, and when I wore them out, I bought a second pair.

I am terrible about just wearing Crocs sandals in my garden. I have never seen a snake in my yard or garden, but this year my garden was so overgrown with squash and sweet potato vines, that I wouldn't go harvest anything without putting on my rain boots.

Michelle, those Sloggers look like a good idea.

Because we have so many snakes, I tend to choose sturdy, leather boots (preferably with steel toes), so mostly I wear black leather steel-toed ankle-high boots. My favorite pair is made by Caterpillar, but any boot that fits that criteria I describes works for me. Because our entire garden slopes and nothing in it is level, the ankle-high boots help prevent me from twisting my ankles and they are not as hot to wear in summer as taller boots.

I have two kinds of Crocs I sometimes wear, especially in the non-snake season. One is the sturdier ATV Crocs they sold a few years back and the other is a solid Croc with no holes so your feet stay warmer and drier.

I also have several pairs of rain boots and wear them in the rainy years. Sometimes if I am only going out to harvest, I just wear hiking or trail running type athletic shoes, but only on days when I haven't seen a snake around in a while.

When it's colder I wear Muck boots. In warmer weather its croc sandals, love them. When we have a warm wet spell, I drag out my worn out tennis shoes, holes and all. I don't have a snake problem or I would be like Dawn and wear high top work boots. What ever floats your boat!!!

Tennies with the soles duct taped. lol i have plain mud boots but they cripple my feet. I need to invest in a pair of water-proofed garden boots with good support.

Today I may have to switch out the ankle-high boots for fishing waders if the rain doesn't taper off soon.

I wear my Asics that I always wear. When I work on or near the hill or when I spray, I wear "Wellies" that come up rather high. I have sprayed them so often with Off that they look bad, but nobody ever sees me. I have over 100 rose bushes and never never go into the garden with open heels or toes.
