I bought a 1400 sq ft cottage in Sedona, AZ. that was built in the 1960.'s. The cottage and the garage are enclosed together. The old slump block wall divides the two structors. However, the original outside windows now open to the conjoined enclosed garage/laundry room. I want to open this open and remove some of the walls. I could use some design and structural help. I am thinking that a new over both structures roof framed in scissor trusses would help eliminate weight bearing walls and open up the now low ceiling rooms. I would appreciate your advice.
