We had one of the old HUGE satelite dishes, and I always wanted to make either a pond or a garden from it. Made some $ selling it to the neighbor instead!

I have, however, made several succulent gardens from old fire pits that I got from recycletown at the dump! I'm sure I would have won some prizes from the county fair, but the fire pits were a couple of inches too big! Grrrrrr Nancy

Here is the dish on top of a metal table stand I found at a yard sale for a couple bucks. I thought I would be able to get the bolts out of the dish to have drainage, but they won't come out. So I'll need someone to drill some holes for me, then I'll cover them with window screen, add some cactus soil, then plant with hens 'n chicks and other sedums. I will update with new pics once it's planted.

great idea. We just took an old dish off our house.

My favorite thing I've ever seen done with a dish was a HUGE one used as the roof for a gazebo.
